T O P I C R E V I E WGrlyGirl200What dominant (sign) or Moon sign (I assume Moon sign as we are talking emotions and not relationship style) would be the most likely to say the is the one doesn't exist?I recently met a man and we get on quite well (he works with my bf), we were talking about his relationship (I inquired as to where his wife was...he said she was away on the weekend...and that their wedding was in July). I asked him how did he know she was "the one?" His reply was that "the one doesn't exist." I then asked why were you getting married? He replied that they had been together long enough (7 years), and get along."So what natal placements would lead a person to say the above or think the above, and is this a sad way of thinking or a clue a person is not "in love?"mirNot a love- nor a sadness matter. I don't see the weirdness in seeing/talking like this man but rather a lack of the option "he might have another BeLIeF?"Plut0nian2Well I have Cancer Sun-Mercury-ASC Moon in Pisces and Neptune in 7th H also natal Pluto in Scorpio in 5th H in aspect with almost all my personal and planets..And I don't believe that fairytale about "the one".. There is not the one.. It is not a sad way of thinking nor that I haven't fallen in love.. There are people we are strongly attracted to... hard work is always needed in order for a relationship to work.. he is seven years in that relationship if he hasn't cheated on her and he isn't with her because of money or smth like that.. then this is a proof of real love.. people tend to confuse the initial strong attraction with love.. Strong attraction may last for some years.. Real love is when that crazy attraction has faded But you still care for each other.. this time the attraction doesn't feel like a strong magnetic power, it is calmer it is more realistic it is warmer.. if the relationship lasts through this phase.. then that is real love.. That is the phase when people start cheating.. because they seek that strong sexual-emotional-romantic attraction.. that exists in the begining of a relationship.. Love is not easy it needs hard work.. even if you are extremely compatible with each other.. GrlyGirl200I'm so confused lol, are you saying that the person has a lack of options? Or I have a lack of understanding that they have different beliefs? I may have misunderstood you.I actually have felt this way with an ex in my past, we were together 5 years and I loved him, but I wasn't "in love." I also would have married him because we were together so long and he fed my need for security (Cap Moon). I don't know if I believe in "the one" (I at least like the idea of it) but I also know in my heart of hearts that getting along and being with someone long enough doesn't create a situation in which you're happy (which is prob why both my ex and I cheated on each other...he had a Cap Venus).I'm also not "in love" nor believe my current bf to be "the one," but we are going to get married (we have property together and have been together 4 years) as he is my best friend (besides my mom). mir**but I also know in my heart of hearts that getting along and being with someone long enough doesn't create a situation in which you're happy (which is prob why both my ex and I cheated on each other...he had a Cap Venus).**You can be perfectly happy in that situation but that totally depends on the package of the person(s). Getting along for such a long time would be a blessing in my eyes, and a sign of balance and that's more of agift than all the "dramatic affairs" I've been in my entire life. One day it's enough, I vote for the "getting along till death do us part"Plut0nian2Well I couldn't reply to your question directly.. I do not know what moon sign or aspect could indicate someone that doesn't believe that there is "the one".. that is why I told you about my chart..Despite of it having too much water and Neptune, I still do not believe in "the one".. I am not trying to say you are wrong or that you have misunderstood anything. I just offered my opinion because I felt like you strongly believe in "the one" thing..and you found that man's opinion as an answer of someone that has a sad way of thinking or is not in love. That is what I felt reading your thread. I wanted to say in way that it is just a realistic way of thinking.. It depends though on what "the one" means for you.. Why did you broke up with your ex? Cheating to me is a proof that there is lack of love.. love makes you resist cheating for many reasons.. but that is just me.. girlwiththerainysoul quote:Originally posted by GrlyGirl200:What dominant (sign) or Moon sign (I assume Moon sign as we are talking emotions and not relationship style) would be the most likely to say the is the one doesn't exist?there may be more than a few elements in a chart which makes people realistic and practicalplus, it's my personal opinion and experience, but most men think sowomen tend to be much more into the idea of "love" and "the one", although definitely not all womenoften it's a sense of fear of losing security and the need to find that man who takes care of you which disguises itself in the form of the idea of "the one" or "soulmate"especially the sign of cancer may be more prone to illusions of soulmates or the one, because it's the moon which seeks security... I think that real love goes like this: You get 2 years of the OMG I can't live without this person ( infatuation stage) Then you get years of love\hate for that person, where 5 years later your between picking their underwear off the floor or wrapping them around their head because your tired of saying don't leave your underwear on the FLOOR!!!! Yet, they continue to do so. Then After many years together , you just look at their underwear pick them up and love them anyway because it is just who they are. LerenaI'm not sure I know the answer to this, but I have a Gemini Moon and I don't believe "the one" exists. While I can be romantic, it's also very hard for me to believe in a lasting relationship. The difficulty is probably unrelated to astrology, but all of this said, I do want to settle down with someone. A lasting relationship is still something I want even if I struggle to think I can be in one.Plut0nian2 quote:Originally posted by colorful butterfly:I have sun in Cancer and a Libra moon. I actually question how happy someone like this is (they may not be unhappy per se). It's not to say that you need to have this grand love story that is full of passion and drama, but if I knew that my future husband was telling a single woman the reason he was getting married was because they had been together long enough (and get along) I would be quite hurt if not a tad bit offended. And I'd be willing all of you wouldn't want your husband or SO to say that to another woman as well. Websites such as Ashley Madison exist for a reason (men tend to cheat more than women) so perhaps the idea of marrying someone that you get along with is a great one, but how is that emotionally fulfilling in the long turn. I have a Cap Moon, so I can be emotionally practical. I seek out a partner and balance, and will stay for the security (I also don't like being alone or without an SO...7th house Moon) but a lack of strong emotions leaves me feeling empty in the long run because it is aspected by Pluto. Even with all of that I certainly won't tell a man (married or not) who I just met (like two weeks prior) that the reason I'm getting married is the above. I'd at least throw in I love her or whatever lol. GrlyGirl200 quote:Originally posted by girlwiththerainysoul: ...especially the sign of cancer may be more prone to illusions of soulmates or the one, because it's the moon which seeks security... Scorpio is driven by emotions and passion (for better or worse), not practicality or even balance. My Scorpio Moon bf (who is an Aquarius Sun/Mer/Mars) thought the response was messed up because it implies that the person is basically surrendering to commitment as opposed to feeling/desiring it mind, body, and soul. So they are careful but will consider the person that they do mesh with body, mind, and soul a soul mate. As far as Pisces (and the Neptune influenced)...the planet Neptune is notorious for seeing and believing in a fairy tale...of all people they would be the most to believe in "the one." In fact think about Liz Taylor, and the many marriages she had...that right there is a typical Pisces archetype. In fact think about Neptune in synastry. Ever had Moon or Venus Conjunct Neptune in synastry? Trust me you end up thinking the person is the one and/or perfect...and it feels good. Now take that Venus or Moon Neptune synastry aspect and make it a Square...well you could end up with a whole lot of disillusionment. Also just because a person is an Aries or Sag Moon doesn't mean they are more quick to change partners than others. Any sign can be "needy" and quick to change partners if their Moon needs aren't being met. For instance a Sag Moon won't leave at all or be flighty if they are getting their needs met. Conversely a Cap Moon (and to a greater extent Taurus Moon as its a fixed Moon sign) can cheat and be flighty yet stay in a relationship out of practicality. soreni think there are higher forces, so they would guide his feelings and destiny. so if he was not meant to marry someone, he would get stoppedRandallI don't. I actually think he is an Earth rising (I'm leaning towards Cap...he is close to his father and is very very hard working...and does the typical Cap male influenced thing of talking about their work goals etc. I also initially thought he was a Cap Moon). He is far too emotionally practical to not have an Earth Rising with his Cancer Moon. Plus Earth Rising makes sense for a lot of reasons. plus, it's my personal opinion and experience, but most men think so
women tend to be much more into the idea of "love" and "the one", although definitely not all women

earth moons are quite practical and realistic
fire moons may find the idea of the one interesting, but sag and aries are often quick to change partners, leo moon might be more loyal
air moons, overall detached from emotions..between them only libra may find a need to have a partner to please...but again it doesn't guarantee their loyalty
